Never Stop Learning

Spring Workshop Series

  • Intro to Groundwork

Some people say that any problem you experience with your horse, on the ground or under saddle, can be addressed with groundwork. The skills we learn on the ground make us better riders and horsemen, and can teach us so much about horses, the way they think, and ou relationship to them. In this workshop we will practice critical groundwork basics, including lateral movements, lunging, and more.

    May 4th 10:00-12:00

  • Parents and Partners of Horse People

We’ll cover everything you need to know to be safe, successful, and supportive at the barn as a non-horse person supporting your child or partner through their horse obsession. We’ll cover basic horse safety, important terminology, and horse handling, as well as give you tips about how to be helpful and how to connect with someone who only wants to talk about horses.

    May 18th 10:00-12:00

  • Equine First Aid and Disaster Preparedness

Lameness, colic, injuries, and natural disasters keep us on our toes as horse people. Your best defense against these inevitabilities is knowledge, and that is what we will cover in this two hour workshop.

    Includes starter first aid kit

Foundations

Mouthiness, fidgeting, cinchiness, difficulty loading, gate and buddy sourness…I could go on and on. All of these are habits that are too often overlooked or written off as “just quirks.” Unfortunately, these habits can make our horses less enjoyable to be around, and make it harder to sell or rehome them in the future.

In this 12 week remote course, I’ll help you work through some of these habits, making your horse more enjoyable to be around by filling any gaps in their training foundations.
