Hands on lessons that focus on building confidence and becoming an effective horseman
Riding and stewardship lessons focus on training both the horse and rider as athletes. This includes sport psychology, balance and strength development, nutrition, biomechanics and preventive health care.
Each lesson focuses on developing the horse-rider relationship and building essential skills for both horse and rider, from first ride through advanced training, and no matter the discipline.
Mounted Lessons.
$70
Mounted lessons are for children over the age of five and adults. Riders of all disciplines and levels are welcome, from first-timers to life long equestrians. I teach a holistic stewardship program designed develop confident horseman with confidence, balance, strength, and timing that can excel in any discipline. You will learn about sport psychology, horse behavior, biomechanics, and tools that will help you become an excellent rider and horse steward. Lessons may also include groundwork and learning how to catch, tie, groom, and saddle a horse properly and safely.
Lessons are 60 minutes and can be taken on a school horse or your own. Please come prepared with jeans or breeches, boots, and riding helmet.
Leadline Lessons.
$45
Little riders ages 3-5 can begin to build confidence both on the ground and in the saddle with leadline lessons. Learning balance, how to read horse behavior, timing, and rhythm will serve your young rider well as they continue into their equestrian career.
Leadline lessons are 30 minutes and include grooming and riding at a walk on a leadline with an instructor. Bring your young rider prepared with jeans or breeches, boots, and a helmet.
Grounded Lessons.
$45
For horse owners, parents of horse crazy kids, or anyone else who wants to bolster their knowledge of horse stewardship from the ground. These lessons include everything from learning to catch and tie a horse, to first aid, groundwork, and trailer loading.
Grounded lessons are 30 minutes. Please come prepared with long pants and boots.
